GCC07 - Global Corporate Challenge 2007 for those not in the know.... kicked off last week with much excitement and anticipation.
So the team, known as the Strawberry Pigeons - Big Bad Brendan Mad, Smshr O'D, Mezza, Tezza, Lilian, Ed and the Boof himself set off from a remote valley in Ethiopa on their way on the epic trek.
So 6 days in and we are making plenty of progress - walking across the vast African desert is arduous, but of course we still have 120 days to go, so things will get plenty worse before they get better.
Our first issue came with a sore toe from Smshr O'D who complained that her high heels were digging into her little toe. Some of us suggested that heels were not quite the appropriate footwear for a trudge through the desolate mountains of Ethiopia, but she insisted that she was ok to continue the rugged struggle to come.
We are hoping to avoid any significant injury or illness along the way, with reports that a rival team member had been crushed by a motorcycle only making the Strawberry Pigeons more wary.
So a long way to go - here is the current leaderboard, with the pigeons getting off to a solid, if not emphatic start, everyone knows that consistency is the key, tortoise and hare sort of idea...
